DJ, Producer and Filmmaker Paimon Alipour has produced a number of projects, ranging from musical albums to documentaries and short films.

A second generation Iranian-American, Paimon was raised by immigrant parents in Iowa City, Iowa, a town that hardly possessed a market for music. Paimon started making music at 16 years old. Despite cultural pressures, he followed his passion for hip hop and decided to pursue a career in music by way of DJ’ing and producing. Influenced by artists like Prince, Pharrell, and Dr Dre,  Paimon’s style includes a wide range of Hip Hop, R&B, funk and soul.

In 2005, Paimon began DJing professionally and went on to maintain a 12 year residency at the biggest bar in the Big 10, at one of the top party schools in the nation, as rated by Playboy Magazine, Princeton Review and Barstool. He has held past residencies at bars and clubs in Chicago, LA and Portland, and has performed at top venues in Chicago, New York, Miami, Austin and Seattle among other cities. Paimon’s DJ skills have been sought after by corporate clients such as Victoria’s Secret, Guess, Sephora, Vans and Lids.

As a producer, Paimon’s tracks and remixes have been in rotation on popular radio stations like Kiss FM, Power 106 and Shade 45. His remixes have appeared on mixtapes for artists like Mike Posner, Nina Sky and Z-Trip. They were also some of the most downloaded tracks on top DJ Record Pools such as DJ City and Direct Music Service, and have generated millions of streams on YouTube.

Based out of his hometown in Iowa City, Paimon produced his first full length feature film in 2017. DJ Paimon: 100% is a documentary following the then 36-year-old in the pursuit of his music career and overcoming the obstacles of small town and cultural expectations. The film won 4 awards and received 5 official selections to independent film festivals.

Amassing over 170k+ followers on TikTok with over 30 million views, where he regularly posts content showcasing his various musical skills including: DJ’ing, remixing, musicianship, and music production, Paimon has become an influencer in the field of DJ’ing where he provides advice and wisdom to DJ’s based on his experiences from his 18 year professional career.
